This my be a dumb question - do please
dont flame me.

I have been using quicken 5.0 for sometime
now and have yet to upgrade to Q'98.

The main question I have is it worth it
to up grade to Q'98, even just the Basic
version. Some questions I have are:

1. Will I have to re-enter in all the
accounts all over again and transactions?

2. Are there better Reporting features for
Analysis of spending in Q'98

3. Lastly will retain user specified Categories
versus just the default ones and have
to remake those?

Anyone know the answers and sorry if this
has been covered before. I am new to this
board.

No.

I don't know a lot about this one.

All your accounts, transactions, categories, etc. will be converted over. I just recently upgraded to '98 from 5.0 myself, and the whole process was painless.

Brent,

Thanks for the info. Will upgrade sometime now
for sure. So far 5.0 is working the way
I need it too. Those were the real
big questions that were never mentioned
on the box or quicken's web page. I did look.

I have just upgraded to quicken98 from quicken dos
version 8.0. The program imported all my accounts,
transactions, reminders, schedules, etc. flawlessly.
The only thing I miss are the ctrl1-9 hot key
assignments on the accounts, but the new features more
than make up for it. Good luck whatever you decide.

For me, upgrading from Q5.0 to Q6.0 was fairly smooth, except I had to re-enter all my scheduled transactions. Everything else tranferred across.
