Learner driver crashes instructor’s car into ditch during nightmare lesson

http://metro.co.uk/2013/06/29/learner-driver-crashes-instruc...

For every natural behind the wheel there are others who need to spend a bit more time mastering the art of mirror, signal, manoeuvre.

This learner driver appears to be one of them after she crashed her instructor’s car into a ditch during a nightmare lesson in Gossau, Switzerland.

The novice motorist had just seven hours experience behind the wheel when she managed to wedge the car in the foundations of a new office block.

Police say the woman mixed up the brake and the accelerator pedals, sending the red motor careering through some metal railings and shocked builders diving for cover.

‘She was doing fine and then she suddenly shot forward at high speed,’ said witness Isabella Schmutz, 37.

A police spokesman added: ‘Her total driving experience was seven hours at the wheel.

‘Both she and her instructor were pretty shaken up but they weren’t injured.’

Hopefully the woman’s instructor will still be by her side during the next lesson to point out where she went wrong.
