I am a fiber-optic construction inspector in Phoenix, Az for the MFN build. I have posted to this board before detailing the total ineptitude of both the xo and level 3 management teams and the high quality of MfN's. If anyone is looking for near term profitability from any fiber company they will look in vain. Amongst the management of Mfn a 3-5 year period is projected before the company begins to reap the profits of all the present capital outlays. For those who do not know: installation of a fiber optic system is extremely expensive. After all is said and done mfn will have approximately 200 of backbone built in the Phoenix Metro area. The cost of fiber alone (not to mention construction of the duct system) will run about 15 million. Multiply this by the dozens of builds going worldwide and you seem that construction of a worldwide fiber-optic backbone is a very capital intensive proposition. Everyone is in agreement that the future is fiber and that once these systems get up and running they will be money machines, but that day is 3 years off minimum. Mfn is a long term investment. $ 14.00 a share is a great place to jump in. Rikkitikkitavi
