"disastrous and historic crash" - well that was because of a surplus of stupidity. I remember real estate "gurus" saying that you should buy now and if you could not afford it you would be able to sell it in a year for a 10% gain. And that happened sometimes. But if it did, it was because of a surplus of stupidity, backed by borrowed money.

Smart people - well really people of only moderate intelligence - knew better.

When people are saying stuff like that, it is time to run away. But watch the market, because when the crash comes, there may be something worth buying. Or not.
