Exactly. And some manufacturer will have a 2014 on a dealer's lot by early spring time, which will make the 2012 two model years older. If I recall correctly, the 2004 GMC Envoy was released in January of February of 2003.

Model years and calendar years are not connected very closely, and haven't been for a while. It is tricky to predict how that will affect depreciation. I've no idea whether the 2012-13-14 Acura models have undergone any major changes. If they haven't, maybe not a huge deal. If there has been a redesign, that is something to consider.
