"Hi, I'm looking at taking out some IRA money to invest in real estate. I stumbled across the "check book" option which sounds like a much lower annual fee and greater flexibility." - IsleGirl

We borrowed money from our 403B to buy our first house. It worked for us. We paid it back pretty quick. We used the money as a down payment on our house back in East Tennessee. That was way back in 1986. Can't remember exactly how long it took to pay it back?

I know that you have to pay it back and you have a certain amount of time to do it? It was 27 years ago so it's kind of hard to remember?

Anyway, good luck!
