There are a lot of evangelicals in Iowa, but Obama won Iowa twice; three times if you count his first primary. I don't think being evangelical or not is much of a determinant on how you are going to vote. Bible belt attitudes about race and about inclusiveness in general are a much more powerful factor. Since most of those people did not/do not consider Romney a Christian, it wasn't anything to do with Christian values motivating the "evangelical" vote.
