I'll revise, not add. Windows (non-NT) is plagued by the underlying DOS layer, but NT is based upon VMS. Both have lots of legacy support/problems, but their heritage is different. DOS makes Windows 9x go, DOS is just another application in NT.

Neither are what I'd consider great OS's, tho. Both are unstable and moving targets that make my job hell. I have no respect nor appreciation for either of them.
