I use ground pork on my tacos because there is a new IGA grocery story near us and they have been selling Pork sirloin end roasts for 98 cents/pound. They have cut out the tenderloin part but the large sirloin end of the pork loin is attached to the hip bone so all I have to do is finish deboning it and then cut it up into cubes and grind it in my meat grinder. The hip bone I boil and make broth out of it.

I bought two of those pork loin roasts and the total cost was about $8.00 and I have been eating on them all week. I still have about ~ 1 lb of ground pork left and tomorrow I'm going to fry it up and make homemade spaghetti sauce out of it. Ground pork works just as well as ground beef and it only costs about half as much.

I'll probably thaw out a 10 lb bag of chicken leg quarters so I can make fried chicken drumsticks for lunch on Sunday. We talked about going out to eat Chinese buffet but it's Mother's Day and it will be crowded. I will ask my wife again if she wants to go out to eat for Mother's day. She likes Chef Wang's because they have that Seaweed salad and she really likes that. It's got soy sauce and sesame oil in it and some kind of fine bright green seaweed in it.
