Bon appetit." - PF I remember reading a book a few years back where the author's thesis was that humans turn to eating insects after they kill off most of the larger mammals. Like in the Valley of Mexico there used to be all kinds of giant sloths and Mammoths and what not but after the American Indians moved into the area they easily slaughtered all those animals off and so they started eating ants and water beetles and crickets and other bugs for protein. They supplemented their corn diet, which is high in starch, with bugs to get enough protein to survive on. Art
