I absolutely hate what the Fed has done the last few years with interest rates and multiple QEs. Hate. It.

Unfortunately I have come to realize that they had very little choice. Our elected officials were not going to do their jobs so the Fed had to resort to all sorts of financial shenanigans to accomplish what our elected officials should have been doing in the first place.

It is ugly. Dangerous. Unfair. Requires a ton of hubris.

But the biggest disgrace of all is that it lets the elected officials off the hook for failing at their responsibilities.
