"Lupus isn't fatal for every patient. I do try to focus on the cases of women who live long, productive lives with the disease. It manifests itself differently in almost every individual and there is a range of prognoses. Less encouraging, the literature indicates that people who exhibit their first lupus symptoms after the age of 50 tend to have a worse prognosis. Still, I have no reason not to focus on the optimistic at this point. "

Focusing on the optimistic is a good thing. Talking is a good thing.
Learning and planning are good things.
We all tend to ignore mortality until we are pushed - but the
simple fact is that we shall all die. We do not have a choice.
We do have a choice in what we do, and how we decide to live.

So, talk and plan and think about where y'all want to be in the next
coupla years. Take things as they come.

Wishin luck, positives, and a focus on good things.
