"My dad was telling me he bought a couple lotto tickets because it was 180 trillion or something.....because it isn't worth it if it's 100 trillion. He said he would make me wait til he died to collect <g>, and then he made a point of giving the phantom cash to to St Jude's Hospital, i think that's a pretty good cause, Danny and Marlo Thomas.....sorry, i'm so cynical it's criminal." - 2828

180 Trillion! That was funny! I think the Powerball is up to $203 Million? That's the annuity. The cash option is like $115 million if memory serves me correctly? The Powerball drawing is tomorrow night at 11:00 pm Eastern Time. The drawing is held in Orlando, Florida somewhere.

If your dad wins in Illinois he will have to pay both Federal Income tax and Illinois state income tax so he will probably end up owing more than what he makes on it. He'll probably come out like negative $100 trillion because it is Illinois after all. I mean those Chicago Politicians have to get their cut to don't they?
