"NBC News reported tonight that a recently release archive of Henry Kissenger's documents contained a letter from 1972 from Kissenger to the Chinese saying that the US recognized the North Vietnamese government, didn't want to overthrow it, and only wished for the North to wait until the US pulled out to take over the South."

And how many American souls died to achieve this end result? 56,000? How many 100's of thousands grievously injured? (By the way, if you really want to cry...go to the Vietnam War Memorial in Washington, DC. Go there about 2 or 3 in the morning. You'll always find someone...often, quite a few...there...mourning).

I'm a member of that "Vietnam generation." I saw what that war did to my friends...and to this country. Is it any wonder I'm opposed to what is now happening in Iraq? More American men and women killed, for what, I ask? So that we could open a "Pandora's box" of sectarian hatreds within that country? How many more Americans will die before we pull out? What, exactly, will we have accomplished?

I'm sorry...can someone explain the "Domino Theory" to me again? Can somebody please tell me where the WMD's are?
