"No one knows why the animal — a lean, 140-pound male between 2 and 4 years old — undertook a journey across the continent. But its travels were documented through Minnesota and Wisconsin, and biologists speculate that the cat then wandered through southern Ontario and New York before reaching Connecticut."--------------------------------------I wonder why he didn't set up a territory in Michigan where there is a huge deer population? Michigan is over-run with deer. Perhaps he was looking for a territory with an all ready established female mountain lion population and he never found it? Another words "sex" (testosterone) drove him to keep searching for an area with receptive females? I bet that was it. It's not one thing that he was seeking but several different elements all together in one area? He was looking for a place with receptive females and no resident male mountain lions. It would have to be remote with enough prey to sustain him and females to breed. Perhaps not so easy to find? Artie
