"Of course I wouldn't recommend you threaten a doctor with litigation - at least not unless you are serious."Very good points. In all honesty, when we asked the doctor's office for more justification on what services they provided, our intention was not to try and skip on paying the bill. There was no previous record anywhere of this doctor providing a service, and then out of nowhere a bill arrived in the mail. All we wanted was proof and they were unable/unwilling to provide that. I can only surmise that they thought a collection agency would scare my Mom, but they don't know her very well. Her attitude was, "let them take me to court, and I'll tell the judge exactly what happened." We never got that far, and the entire matter went away.
