"...Plus, it's equally plausible by looking at context that Nagin was not refusing school buses, but rather using the extreme example of Greyhound buses to illustrate the dire need for any kind of transportation. In other words, don't limit the plan to government-owned buses - get me every bus, including private ones.

Similar to, "They're planning on sending me Coast Guard boats? You've got to be kidding me. This is a natural disaster. Get me every private boat there is!"

This kind of word-parsing is idiotic - and that goes for both criticism of the Mayor's comments and those of Barbara Bush, for those on the other end of the political spectrum. People speaking extemporaneously in interviews do not have the luxury of crafting their statements to admit of only one meaning." Albaby

Admirable defense counselor, but clearly, his actions, or in this case, clear inaction to mobilize, to use instantly availble busses is indisputably damning.

And that isn't word parsing, it's just showing the facts...

He failed to act, and with clear knowledge that the school busses were right there and would have easily moved thousands in round trips out of the danger zone over the weekend..
