"She really could have been 90, becauase that's how old she looked and acted. Something is wrong when 80 to 90-year old ladies need to work for minimum wage at a fast food joint to make ends meet. I don't blame the government or anyone else, but it sure sucked to see her out there carrying drinks around for people who hardly knew she was there. "My grandfather in his late 70s and 80s was a ticket taker at a movie theater down the street from his apartment. He got bored in retirement (retired at 70) and he and wife lived in 1 bedroom apartment in suburban/urban NJ. So he worked 4-5 days a week, during the day, when there weren't a whole lot of people attending, and took the tickets at the front of the theater. He got to know the 'regulars' who came to see the movies each week (a lot of them were lomesome folks who wanted to get out of the house regardless of what movies were showing, too0..... He did that up till his 80s, when his wife died, and he got a bad case of Alzheimer and had to be put in a facility to provide for him. If you go to FL, most of the fast food restaurants are staffed by older folks. I suspect that most of them really don't need the money, but it comes in handy, and just want to do something with their time other than play bingo or watch the boob tube. t.t.
