"So here's my question: what are your favorite day trip locations?"

Wow, where do I begin?

Yosemite National Park is beautiful anytime of the year but we avoid the summer crowds. We go in the spring when it is the best or in fall. We have done this as a day trip but much perfer to spend 3 or 4 days camping.

Calaveras Big Trees State Park to walk around the giant sequoias.

Santa Cruz during November to April to see the Monarch Butterflies and ocean views.

Monterey Bay to see the aquarium and ocean views.

Point Reyes National Seashore to see the ocean, lighthouses, and do whale watching.

There are the Gold towns on Highway 49, Jamestown, Sonora, Angels Camp, Jackson, and Placerville to name a few that are great for walking around town, soaking up history and shopping.

Napa is well known for it's wineries, but I don't even have to leave town because my hometown is getting a pretty good name for it's wineries too.

San Francisco .... need I say more!

Did I mention I live in the San Francisco Bay area in California and that I have been here for over 30 years?
