"So what is your winter heating bill?"

I had a friend who lived in PIttsfield, MA....in the western part of the state in the hills (3500 foot mountains)....

The main topic on the local ham radio starting mid Sept was wood stoves, and how much wood they folks had laid in for the winter. Most needed about six cords of wood, some more.

That's a pile 6 foot wide, six foot high, and 120 feet long......or longer. One heck of a lot of work.
