"suppose beach is out?" - Tim

I've been to several of the Texas beaches in the Gulf of Mexico. The water was murky and you can walk out a half a mile and it will only come up to your chest. The murky water precludes snorkeling. The reason I don't like to swim in murky water is that is where the most shark bites happen from "mistaken identity." I'm just not a fan of murky green water. I like to put on a mask and snorkel and keep an eye out when I'm in the ocean.

The good thing is though is they do have a thriving shrimping industry so you can buy fresh seafood close to the ocean there... so there is that.
