Right. They are making $ off the time they hold it.

With my hubby's 401K through Vanguard, the deposits usually are about 3-5 days after the end of month payday. They are paid bi-weekly so the mid-month money is held until the first of the month.

Our particular plan has us getting a 3% match monthly and an additional 3% yearly lump sum in January.

Of course this is more advantageous to them, but better than no match.
