Likely due to the costs of the associated paperwork for a bill with rapid turnover. But for a definitive answer, call Treasury Direct and ask them. Their customer service reps are knowledgible and friendly. (They want to borrow your money. LOL) Also, it's possible for an individual to have both types of TD accounts.
