You'll never buy at the lowest or sell at the highest. But, unless you are in this for short term, it doesn't matter. I think MSFT is a "buy and hold" stock. Over the years, a lot of people have bought and sold MSFT, but if you took a poll, I'm sure you'd see a lot of people who wish they had held (myself included).

As long as the gov't doesn't manage to break MSFT up, I don't think you can loose, long term. MSFT dominates their industry like no other company. They currently rake in hoards of cash, and the role of software in our society will only get larger and larger. That puts MSFT in an enviable position.
