RCMX,
<<Okay, now that I know what I have to do, does anyone have any suggestions as to a good fund choice for the Roth IRA?
Between: TRowe Equity Income and Vanguard Index Growth
Which would be better? If not these, then what?>>
Around Fooldom, we don't have a high regard for mutual funds and prefer to do our own stock selection. That's because the majority of managed mutual funds
fail to meet or exceed the market itself as measured by the S&P 500 index. The one that comes close to doing so year in and year out is the Vanguard 500 index fund. Of the over 4,500 stock funds out there, that one is the one worthy of your long term money assuming you wish to stay with funds.
We believe you can do better than that investing in stocks yourself. TJC gave you two of the approaches we think can do so. Others are discussed throughout Fooldom. You may want to poke around a bit -- particularly in the Dow area -- to see why we think this way.
Regards....Pixy
