Most days, I think that I doing fine being on track to RE. However, whenever I hear of someone at work who has reached FIRE right now, then I get that feeling that I wish it were me too. With the market the way it is, don't hear these type of annoucements as much lately, but here's what I do to deal with it:

1) Remind myself that I do have choices--I could RE right now, but I'd have to live on a bare bones budget and/or work part-time. I prefer to on my current LBYM budget and not work at all so I press on.

2) I increase the frequency that I perform volunteer work, cuz the people who do that type of work fulltime generally don't want or need to RE.

Is it just me, or does anyone else out there have a hard time with sort of thing?
