Re- windows - ours is one of the 3 or 4 oldest houses in the neighborhood, and the windows in those are similar. Most houses in the neighborhood were built about 15 years later or more recently, and our windows are dated both in size and appearance vs the rest of the neighborhood. Due to the brick veneer, if we replace windows, we will go with the same size replacements.

If the majority of the houses in your neighborhood have at least dual pane windows (and if they've been built in the last 15 years, they probably do), then having single pane aluminum windows will result in fewer interested buyers, which will lead to a lower price. (And it will be a deduction in the value of your home when the appraisal is done.) For your comfort while you live there, your ongoing cost of energy, and the salability of your home when/if you sell, I would recommend replacing them. If you lived someplace with a more moderate climate, like Seattle, it might not be such a big deal - but in Texas, where the climate is much more extreme - it could very well be a reason for buyers to skip even making an offer on your house.
