Well, I am ending 2012 15 lbs lighter than I started it. In the interim I have had a stress fracture in my heel, severe plantar fasciitis in he same foot, and discovered that my accident from 2011 resulted in a bulging disc in my neck. On the plus side, I never would have discovered the bulging disc if I hadn't been working out to improve my upper body strength, so that gym membership was good for something ;0)My eating habits have changed. When I started out 2012, I was eating oatmeal for breakfast pretty much daily. I had the occasional sugar craving, and I had a definite belly bulge. I love Bob Harper and tried to live by his "rules" in the early summer. The changes were good, but I still wasn't seeing much movement on the scale. In late summer, DH, a cultural Anthropologist by profession, took an interest in the Paleo Diet. He discovered that the principles were to eat food similar to the way our ancestors did. In a nutshell, that meant cutting out a lot of processed foods. Grains, dairy, legumes, and regular potatoes are all on the do not eat list. I've learned that I can still bake using almond flour and coconut flour and tweaking the recipes.I look forward to 2013, as I return to school, and hopefully return to the gym. My foot feels great, and I have lost most of the "belly bulge". My goal at this point is to see if I can shave another 15 lbs off this year. It's not a get thin quick approach, but it is a nice steady loss.LWW
