This one may be for Phil.

Is it acceptable to scan all your tax documents, save them on a computer and toss the originals. My immediate thought is sure, why not but a little voice inside says maybe there are some things that only the original will do.

And then again, it may not. I'm still using a 33K modem for 'Net access.

There has been a discussion of this on Usenet, but I didn't pay any attention. I don't know if IRS has issued any guidance. Try a search at www.misc-taxes-moderated.
