Hi All-

I had to post to thank you all for being who you are, and for being here (on this board).

I'd been following a thread over on the AF board about the Yates case in Texas ("Insanity in Texas"). The topic drifted into a discussion about capital punishment in general.
While the discussion raged on and I got more and more "mesmerized" I started feeling, oh I don't know, depressed?, um..frayed around the edges?, edgy?, nothing I could exactly put my finger on, just not right.

Then I popped over here to see what was going on and read the posts about nature's altars, appreciation for what is, and being in "today", and realized how dark a mood I was really in!

Your posts quickly put me back to "right thinking". What's important, what's real, what's good in this world. Not to minimize what's happening there, but it's outside my sphere of influence.
I know there is lots of stuff "out there" that's not right and needs attention, but I've got plenty "right here" that needs my attention, and my immediate environment is where I should be focused. The positive causes I make here and now will contribute, however little much, to the betterment of humankind. (I hope)

Thanks to anyone who read this, and my apologies to anyone I may have offended. The posters on this board are the closest to like-mindedness I have discovered, and I guess I just needed to release.

harming no one, and staying away from the AF board for awhile
