Regarding the flatness of AAIR stock in recent months, take a look at the airline segment overall. AAIR slid from a high of around $7 to its current repugnant level of $4ish around the same time that Delta slid from $70ish to $50ish....The apparent culprit is (and I know you can relate) fuel prices! Yep, since the price of the go-go juice is a relatively significant % of the total expenses of an airline, they get hit hard when it goes up. The timing of this does seem to really stink since, as you pointed out, AAIR has turned the corner to profitability, but been hampered by an external circumstance which they have little control over....Maybe that's why the Gardner's don't like transportation stocks. Oh, well, hold and hope.
