I hope this is the right board to ask this question (if not, I'm sure someone will POLITELY direct me!)
I have a home we lived in as our primary residence for 5 years (purchased new).
Recently we (my wife and I), purchased a new home, and hope to rent the other for up to 3 years, then sell, and retain the tax exemption due to it being our primary reesidence for 3 out of the last 5 years.
Has there been any important, significant changes in the tax code, that impact this approach?
