Republicans in Arkansas are struggling to get past the controversy generated by a state lawmaker who wrote that slavery might have benefited blacks and a candidate who has advocated expelling Muslims from the United States.Sounds like a run-of-the-mill conservative Republican. That congressman who said that embryology and the Big Bang theory are "lies straight from the pit of hell" didn't deny that he believes it. He said it was supposed to be off the record. When Akin talked about legitimate rape, none of the nationally known Republicans said he was wrong, they just didn't like that he said it aloud. As a Republican you're supposed to keep this kind of stuff quiet. It tends to scare the electorate with IQs higher than 85.
