Stating that people don't just want a fatter portfolio but really want financial independence, means what ?

Is suggestive that coming to that conclsuion will help you get there?
It won't.

People need lost of dough for retirement,, saying that, doesn't help you get it.

In my experience, the best brokers( there are many), help educate and involve their clients in making as objective decisions as possible, they inadvertantly gain their trust, long term trust and referrals.
What happenss to often is young brokers gain limited understanding, and go and sell, often to the crowd that only thinks backwards 2-3 years.
Stks busted, so don't own stks, or stks boomed so own stks, etc,
and all that ends badly.

Teaching is a very needed and nobel profession. Anyone going into it should be doing so because they have a passion to teach.

In general stating great sounding goals, is just that, having the net wisdom to execute is another thing.
