My wife and I will be retiring in 2 years. I will be 65 and she will be 62. My portfolio strategy is to invest in the following assets to achieve our goals and stay within our comfort zone:

20% or 10 years of fixed income to cover the first 10 years of withdrawls

15% or 10 years of short term growth to cover the next 10 years

40% of Long term growth to cover our needs from year 20 onward and

25% of real estate investments.

My allocation plan for my 40% long term growth is:

20% S&P 500 / VFINX

20% Large Value / VIVAX

20% Small-Cap / NAESX

20% Small-Cap Value / VISVX

20% International / VGSIX

I welcome and would appreciate any advice or comments on my strategy.
