Good morning,

Today Immucor announced that earnings in its fiscal third quarter, ended February 29, 2000, would be approximately $0.10 per share, versus analyst expectations of $0.15 per share. The company expects fiscal year 2000 earnings to approximate $0.55 per share, up from $0.45 per share in fiscal year 1999, but less than analyst expectations of $0.65 per share.

The company cited three major factors influencing results. First, it experienced a decline in traditional reagent sales caused by the buildup of excessive customer inventories in the first and second fiscal quarters in anticipation of Y2K problems. Second, conversion of the previously acquired BCA/Biopool business into the Immucor customer base did not occur at the rate planned. Third, the strong U.S. dollar negatively affected reported European sales and earnings.
