As a newly minted financial advisor, I have never seen anything about SEC filings regarding corporate acquisitions. I suspect that there may be SOME information about possible acquisitions in a company's annual report, but since many companies view this type of information as 'strategic', it is often confidential.

You may be able to definitively find the answer to your question at the SEC's site: http://www.sec.gov/index.html

There is an area on there where you can ask questions.
