Help! I thought I would be cheap and sent my husband for a $5 roasting pan at the grocery store to use at Thanksgiving. I didn't check until tonight and found it's that cheap non-stick material that you can't get very hot and certainly cannot go on the stovetop. I need it to be able to withstand 500 degrees in the oven and go on the stovetop for gravy making.Should I go buy a pricey stainless steel one? I had planned on getting one eventually (I was hoping it would arrive as a birthday or Xmas gift one day soon). Or I do have a much smaller disposable aluminum foil roasting pan. The problem with it is that it has ridges in the bottom that would make whisking hard (but certainly not impossible) but mainly I am not sure that the thin aluminum would work on the stovetop and disperse the heat appropriately. With work and kids I don't have much time to play around with it and figure out if it will work or not.DH thinks I should just use the cheap one in the oven and on the stove and see what happens, but I would hate to mess up the food with either the non-stick coating smoking up the oven or disintegrating over the stove.Any ideas?! I need a game plan by tomorrow morning...
