I notice that fees start Feb. 14, so I better get my answer quickly. I am retired and will not be able to pony up the extra expense. Too bad. I know they have to pay the bills too.

My question:

My wife has an 401K (maybe $2K)still sitting at a job she recently quit. I want her to roll it over into an IRA and I'm thinking of an index fund, maybe Fidelity Spartan 500, since I already have a money market fund there. I notice it is not very good times for index funds right now. The S&P apparently lost about 11% last yr., and the Spartan 500 likewise.

Is there a better place for me to park her rollover money until the S&P starts to pick up steadily again? Thanks for your advice.
