After being laid off several years ago after being at a Fortune 100 company for almost 25 years, I'm finally taking the plunge and rolling over my 401K and lump sum pension to an IRA. I'm thinking of splitting the 401K into the Vanguard Target Retirement 2015 and the Vanguard Asset Allocation funds. Is anyone familiar with these? After taking a gigantic hit in the recent market downturn (although I've made some recent gains), I'm interested in something rather secure. I'm in my early mid-50s.I'd like the lump sum to be in something extremely non-risky. Am almost thinking of CDs, although I'd at least like to stay ahead of inflation.Any suggestions anyone can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much!!!G.
