Rollovers and conversions are completely separate from the $3,000 contribution limit. If I understand your post, the KO stock was in your name until it was transferred to the UTMA account. The dividend came to you because the ex-dividend date was before the transfer which makes the dividend your income and reported on a 1099DIV in your name. What you do with it is your choice. Debra
