The extremes on Both sides want both of them to go ballistically toxic, and tell them what they want to hear whether they mean it or not, and tell anyone else in the party who thinks differently or brings up something about their dirty linen to STFU.

You can't watch a news network in this country for at least 4 years that discusses anything but these two men, as if the whole world depends on these two men. You have to look abroad to find out what is going on outside this country. You have to actually get in your car and drive around in this country to get a feel for what is going on in different parts of it.

We don't hear about congressional races or anything else.

I fear that no matter who wins this will just continue.

And we wonder why no one decent runs for office?

I often feel the people who should be running a country are the people who never want the responsibility. The people who end up running a country are the people who always want the power no matter the price.

The best and brightest obviously do not work in the public sector.

Well some have and did a pretty good job (some of our Founding Fathers to name just a few).

The original intention of that was they already made their money, so they didn't need the government to make it, just keep it.

Their attitude was, "If you let me keep mine, I'll let you keep yours."

Pretty simple really.

Over 90% of the House races are rigged anyway. That's to political gerrymandering, there's about 400 seats in the House that will never switch parties no matter what. Charlie Rangel got busted for tax evasion, while writing tax laws and still gets re-elected with over 80% of the vote. In Presidential years, the Presidency gets all the attention. It also sucks up alot of money that would go to Congressional races.
