I am trying to figure out how much of estimated taxes I owe to uncle Sam after conversion my IRA to Roth IRA.
I am playing with turbo tax 98. It seems like unlike for previous years you have to know more about tax forms to play with the program now. I guess it will be very easy when you have all the forms. But for estimation it is more trouble.
Could somebody tell me what 1099-R will be used for Roth conversion. For a very standard conversion what should appear in box 1, 2 etc. What info will be enough for turbo tax to figure out that it was a standard Roth conversion. My situation is very easy otherwise. My contributions to IRA were not tax deductible. I know how much I put in and what was the value of my IRA on the day of conversion.
Thank you.
