My wife and I went to a financial planner (recommended by relative) to see where we stand on retirement funding and college 529 savings plan for our 4 mo old son. He had several suggestions which cause me some concerns. He suggested that I liquidate my Sharebuilder account which is around $10,000 and my ESPP which is around $25,000 and fund a Roth IRA for wife and myself. Is he leading us down the right path? I have 15 years until retirement.
