By Eric Savitz 9/20/2010 "With today’s licensing deal with interactive programming guide provider Rovi (ROVI), Piper Jaffray analyst Gene Munster is more convinced than ever about his thesis that Apple (AAPL) is planning a move into the television business. “We believe this announcement is further evidence that Apple is developing live TV and DVR features for its Apple TV product, and will likely launch an all-in-one Apple Television in the next 2-4 years,” he writes in a research note. “Following its deal with Rovi, Apple would be clear to add live TV, DVR, and guidance features to its Apple TV product, which we believe is a critical step towards an all-in-one Apple Television.” As noted earlier, Rovi disclosed only that it signed a multi-year licensing deal with Apple, but provided no details on the terms or nature of the arrangement."
ROVI is what gemstar and macrovision wanted to be...back in 1999-2000...and those old timers were hi-fliers on hype alone...ROVI is way past the hypo stageOH
