RPRambler,

Sharing some other information....

Yes, good update!

The territory of the Personal Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter has been extended to encompass Canada, at least for now. The intent is to establish a territorial deanery of this ordinariate in Canada that likely will become a separate ordinariate at some time in the future. Carl Reid and Peter Wilkinson, the former bishops of the Anglican Catholic Church of Canada (ACCC), the Canadian province of the Traditional Anglican Communion (TAC), will receive ordination as Catholic presbyters on 08 December, respectively in Ottawa and Victoria. I expect that one of them has been chosen to be the dean of the Canadian deanery, and that the announcement of the canonical erection of the deanery and the name of its first dean will occur at the respective ordination. There's also another class of about sixty former Anglican presbyters slated to begin a program of supplemental formation for service as Catholic clergy next month, with their ordinations to occur around April of next year.

For those who are interested in following these developments, there's a very good blog named "Foolishness to the World" (http://foolishnesstotheworld.wordpress.com for home page) maintained by Deborah Gyapong, a reporter for Catholic press in Canada and a member of Carl Reid's congregation, which became the Sodality of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary (http://www.annunciationofthebvm.org for home page) upon its reception into the full communion of the Catholic Church earlier this year. This sodality's news letters are also a good source of information on developments north of the border.

I should mention that there are quite a few congregations that have come into the Catholic Church to join the ordinariate that are temporarily under the pastoral care of the local diocesan bishop until the Catholic ordination of their former Anglican clergy. In most cases, the former pastor retains governance as the canoncial administrator of the respective community, also pending his Catholic ordination whereupon he will become its pastor or chaplain, depending upon its size and canonical status.

Norm.
