rrcarag, you asked: My company's 401K is managed by T Rowe Price. I just quit my job, and I'm intending to roll my 401K over into an IRA acct. My question is where? Should I stick with a TRP IRA (there are no index funds in the options)? Or should I transfer the funds to an IRA account with my discount broker? With the second option, I would be able to invest the funds in the Foolish Four, apply the Fool investment strategies. Or so I'm thinking. I'm totally new in this field, having joined very recently. I'd appreciate some feedback. Many thanks

A quick $0.02:

If you stay in the 401k and they don't have an index fund then your options are somewhat restriced. If you roll the funds into a T Rowe Price IRA, then you will be able to use the TRP Index funds (no more 401k restrictions). As long as your only owning/trading funds within your IRA this might work. If you want to trade stocks in your IRA, you need to consider that TRP is not really a discount broker although they are less costly than a full service broker. Once you are in a self-directed IRA (TRP or otherwise), you will be able to do "foolish" things with the best of them, FF, BSP, Peg etc.

Have a great day.
