I have just gone through the FAQ. I note it is about 5 years old (at least all the threads I read were from 2003). We are seriously considering getting a console (primary purpose would be Guitar Hero and/or Rock Band, but it would be very easy for me to fall into first-person shooters and combat flight simulators). So I started sniffing around and spoke to a guy today who seemed to know what he was talking about. Certainly more than me.

Anyway, he warned me of the RROD of Xbox. He advised me to check online to see if there were reports of the latest revision of Xbox exhibiting the problem, and I found a few reports from within the past month. So it looks like MSFT still hasn't fixed it.

Xbox seems to have the best titles, and lots of them. But I don't know that I'm eager to plop down a few hundred $$$ for something that will self-brick at random. I'm wondering what the latest thoughts here are.

TIA,
1poorguy
