Dear Respected Posters on the 'Mish' board.

Russ needs your prayers, good thoughts, and hope.

He had a massive stroke early Tues a.m. and is still not conscious.

We won't know what the damage is until the brain swelling goes down, the doctor says hopefully by Monday 'if he makes it through the weekend'.

He had just got the biggest deer we'd had in a dozen years, and was so happy. We got it hung up in the root cellar, and at 10 pm I went to bed and he wanted to go on the Mish board.

I found him at 2 am, when the dog woke me.

I know how much he values his friendships with the posters on this board, and I know he would want to come back to post. OTOH, he left instructions his quality of life is a strong consideration. <sigh>

Pray for him, and strength for me. I will be in touch, and if I am late in responding to individual emails, please forgive me.

I will maintain contact, come what may, good outcome or ill. You are all an enlightened and entertaining bunch and provided much fodder for meaningful conversations between Russ and me.

Thank you all,
Alice (Mrs. frogfarm)
