Anyone know much about satellite phones? It seems to me that as analog cell gives way to digital cell, digital cell will give way to satellite. The power and flexibility of these systems are amazing. A quick browser search coughed up three service providers(Iridium, Globalstar, Inmarsat). None of these seem anything more that a longshot bet at this point as an investment. So that leads me to the technology side. Iridium uses motorola products, globalstar uses qualcomm, and I couldn't figure who is building Inmarsat's stuff. (Inmarsat seemed orientated towards the power user, video conferenceing, faxing ect.)

Anyone have any thoughts on the above?
